Nachali
Nachali started at TBAS with few school habits. She was not used to sitting down and focusing on the teacher in the front of the classroom. She arrived with special education accommodations and was severely behind in her academic skills.
Nachali made just over 2 years of academic progress in both Reading and Math in her first year at TBAS. She is reading novels, writing stories, keeping friends, building robots, and exercising healthy school habits.

Calvin
Calvin has been building school habits and making academic progress at TBAS for 2.5 school years. While building academic knowledge well beyond 8th grade level in both Math and Reading, Calvin has achieved significant personal growth.
At TBAS, Calvin learned how to manage his frustration levels and make and maintain friendships. Calvin learned about his academic and personal needs, about what accommodations he needs to succeed, and how to advocate for those accommodations himself. Calvin also joined the TBAS Lego Club where he successfully built and programmed robots to meet challenges. He also wrote computer code to voice automate a presentation–yet another accommodation which will help him succeed in a traditional high school environment and beyond.
We believe all students learn well when taught well.
