The Bridge Avenue School recruits and welcomes students who have not been successful in traditional schools.
The academic experience at The Bridge Avenue School is designed to support students in academic areas of concern and give students opportunities to pursue their strengths and academic areas of interest.
We have very successful students who are dyslexic or have other learning disabilities that affect reading. We have very successful students on the autism spectrum. We have very successful students who have been bullied in larger schools.
We have hands-on projects on a regular basis to supplement math, science, and history classes. These projects include woodworking, soldering, small engine repair, robotics and coding, and cooking. We also provide music, art, and physical education classes as well as outdoor education in the form of field trips and camping trips.
We use standard academic assessment tools and individual student interviews to design a highly-responsive academic school day. Our curriculum includes standard 5th-8th grade subjects and content approved by the Ohio Department of Education and we differentiate and supplement where necessary. Many students leave our school after Grade 8 and are successful in high school and report feeling well prepared for their high school classes.
You are God’s Masterpiece created to do good works. (Ephesians 2:10)
